about

Here it is, the second long playing album by STOOR. The ten songs on this here recorded artifact present a step forward for the band without kicking over the traces that made their debut album such a treat. Be prepared to take your ears off on a great leap forward as you enter the weird and wonderful world of STOOR! Turn up the volume and brace yourself dear listener.

Stoor Theme: Someone once said something along the lines of ‘If it ain’t got the twang it ain’t got the thang’. I’m not quite sure what they meant but this instrumental number sure has the twang and it sure sounds brilliant.

Pain: Pain and pleasure are deeply entwined, never more so than with in the grooves of this song. STOOR have no ‘cure in our cabinet’ unless it’s a cure for the blues.

Lovebombing: In which the cure may just kill you as we meet Chet and his buddies in Iraq and STOOR drive their way to your heart with extreme prejudice and jagged guitars. Working on the old maxim that what doesn’t kill you will only make you stronger.

The Dig: This riff is so good one day future archeologists will dig it up and fall on their knees in the dirt in wonderment and awe.

Ark: Fame, fame fatal fame. Once we were all going to be famous for fifteen minutes. Now we are merely dusty bytes and pieces of redundant code, soon to be stranded on outmoded pieces of technological junk. Yet STOOR drag us out kicking and screaming at the end of side one.

Atrocities: The world sinks into a post-apocalyptic nightmare while we dance among the smoldering ruins of our former civilization.

Agags Groove: Time to escape to the mountains in a frantic, discombobulating, ascension. We flee the cities but can we ever truly escape ourselves?

Founding Fathers: History rarely repeats itself. And often appears in different hairpieces. All hail the new Puritans. Scarier than the old ones.

Unlike Them: Smart songs are much more effective than smart bombs. Set the controls to the centre of your soul. No innocent people were harmed in the making of this song.

Chivers: Cannibalism, death and decay. A glorious tune. A beautiful flower wrapped in a barbed wire bouquet.

And there we have it dear listener. The second long-player from STOOR. Hold on tight and jump on in. Speakers set to stun, let your senses be warped. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the NOW SOUND of STOOR!
